Internet Troubleshooting Guide

  • 1 = Router

  • 2 = PoE Injector Brick

  • A = Ethernet cable connecting router to PoE brick

  • B = Router power supply cord

  • C = PoE brick power supply cord

  • D = Outside dish power supply cord

Troubleshooting Router

To begin troubleshooting your router (1), first start by power cycling. Unplug the router's power supply cord (B) from the outlet, wait one minute, then plug it back in. Verify that the ethernet cable (A) connecting the router to the PoE brick is in the correct port on the router. This will be dependent on the model of the router.

If you are unable to see the WiFi networks at all, verify that the router is getting power. Check the power supply cord for damage. In case of a needed replacement, LR provides routers complimentary with our internet services.

If you are able to see the WiFi networks but they are not getting internet, move onto troubleshooting the PoE Injector Brick and the outside dish.

Troubleshooting PoE

Following the ethernet cable (A) from the router to the PoE brick (2), verify that it is plugged into the LAN port on the PoE.

To power cycle the PoE brick, unplug the power supply cord (C) from either the brick or the outlet, wait one minute, then plug it back in. It will take up to ten minutes for the PoE to reboot fully. After that, test to see if your internet is working.

If you are still experiencing issues, move onto troubleshooting the outside dish.

Troubleshooting Outside Dish

To troubleshoot the outside dish, verify the cord to the dish (D) is plugged into the PoE port on the PoE brick. This port will likely be labelled "Antenna."

To power cycle the dish, unplug it from the PoE brick, wait one minute, then plug it back in. It will take up to ten minutes for the dish to reboot fully. After that, test to see if your internet is working.

Other Troubleshooting Tips

Sometimes, issues can be experienced with an outlet not receiving power or a power strip being accidentally turned off. Verify that the outlets your internet equipment into are receiving power by testing with something else (i.e. a phone charger).

When calling in to report issues with your internet, take note on if there is a white light on the PoE brick. This helps us narrow down an issue you may be experiencing.

If you are experiencing slow speeds, we recommend using an online speedtest to see if you are getting your plan speeds. Speedtests are most accurate when no other devices in your network are in use.
